
2 Full Days of Summer Fun – August 12-13, 2017
Commemorate Collingwood’s ship-building history while enjoying everything that happens on, at or near Georgian Bay at this fun-filled, 2 day family festival held at multiple venues throughout Collingwood. Visit the water for Stand Up Paddleboard races and water sports of every kind, take in a concert, let the kids explore an activity centre or stroll through the downtown core or along the Waterfront Promenade to enjoy vendors, music and local businesses. Activities and events to please the whole family!
Collingwood Farmer’s Market – Sat Aug 12 from 8:30am – 1:00pm
Stock up on organic vegetables & fruit, baking, meats & cheeses, flowers & trees, jams & preserves, handcrafted items and so much more, all provided by local vendors. While you’re there, let the kids stop in at the free craft station for some creative fun!
Vendors will be at the parking lot at corner of Second and Pine Streets.
Stand Up Paddling (SUP) Races & Demos – Sat Aug 12
Witness the Ontario Summer Splash SUP Race Series first hand at demos and races through Collingwood Harbour. Endurance races and sprints, individuals and team events on Blu Wave’s giant SUP, each of these events offer lots of fun for participants and spectators alike! Interested? Anyone can participate in the following distance categories: Elite (8km), Open (5km), Novice (2km) and Youth (1km).

Try It On Sailing and Rowing – Sat Aug 12 from 10:00am – 1:00pm
Always wanted to try your hand at sailing or on a rowing crew? The Collingwood Sailing School is happy to give you the opportunity at the Watts Skiff Building on Heritage Drive. Register onsite.
Kids Craft & Activity Centre – Sat & Sun from 10:00 – 4:00pm
Giant versions of classic games, a scavenger hunt and vegetable/fruit stamps! Face painting and button making! Darci-Q and Emilie Too! Lots of fun and games brought to you by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge and the Environment Network. Located at the Waterfront Promenade.
Rails & Ramps Bike Zone – Sat & Sun from 10:00am – 4:00pm
Kids can perfect their riding skills and pick up some tips and tricks from the experts at Hardwood Ski and Bike Inc. Held at Sidelaunch Way
SideRider Cable Wakeboarding – Sat & Sun from 10:00am – 6:00pm
You’re now an old hand at sailing and rowing, what’s your next adventure? Why not give wakeboarding a try in the safety of Collingwood harbor? Try out the new Siderider Cable wakeboarding ride! Great for boarders of any skill level.
Side Launch Brewing Dockside Bar – Sat & Sun from noon – 6:00pm
What goes great with a hot, sunny afternoon spent near the water? How about a cold beer from Side Launch Brewing Company! Local favourite and event sponsor Side Launch will be serving up some of their favourites at a dockside bar on the Waterfront Promenade, perfectly located for watching the paddling and sailing events and close to the vendor promenade.
“Live & Original” Encore Concert – Sat Aug 12 at 7:00pm
Enjoy three of the Collingwood “Live & Original” Finalists in a n evening performance: Noelle Cyr, Courtney Dubois, and the 2017 L&O winners, The Rip Nancies. Be sure to include a visit to the “Upper Deck” at the Shipyards Amphitheatre, the Side Launch Brewing Company’s outdoor bar!.
Waterside Yoga Session – Sun Aug 13 from 9:00am – 10:00am
Start your day with a free outdoor Yoga session in Millennium Park and surrounded by beautiful Georgian Bay. Session provided by Buddha Rider and based on “The Gentle Stretch” class. BYO-yoga mat as there are limited mats available.
Paddle for the Lighthouse – Sun Aug 13 from 9:00am – 11:00am
Paddle out to the Nottawasaga Lighthouse on anything you can find in support of the Nottawasaga Lighthouse Preservation Society. Beginners should plan to paddle 4km at Princeton Shores, Advanced paddlers can do a 10km loop at Collingwood Harbour Promenade. All paddlers must begin by 9:30am. Pre-registration required.
War Canoe and Kayak Try-it-on – Sun Aug 13 from 12:00pm – 3:30pm and
War Canoe Tug O’War – Sun Aug 13 from 3:30pm – 4:00pm
Pre-register for the Tug O’War at the Free Spirit Tent on the Promenade. Canoes and kayaks are in the Sidelaunch Basin. Presented at no charge by Free Spirit Tours and Big Brothers Big Sisters Georgian Triangle.
Kites over Collingwood – Sun Aug 13 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Bring your own kite, decorate a complimentary one or watch professional kite flyers show you how it’s done! Millennium Park is the ideal location since the Imagination Playground and Water Exploration Station will also be available.
Mudmen Concert – Sun Aug 13 at 7:00pm
The Mudmen wrap up the Sidelaunch Festival with great music and lots of energy, in an awesome outdoor concert live from the Amphitheatre! Presented by The Town of Collingwood and Fram +Slokker.
